MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – ‘Aisyiyah scholars contributes to strengthening ‘Aisyiyah strategic roles.
“One of ten strategic issues as the decrees of the 48th Congress (Muktamar) of ‘Aisyiyah was regarding reinforcement of strategic roles of Muslims to develop this nation. Here, ‘Aisyiyah scholars has played roles throughout Indonesia,” President of ‘Aisyiyah 2022-2027 Salmah Orbayinah at the ‘Aisyiyah Talent Scouting, Cadre Chapter I organized by the Muhammadiyah Council for Cadre Education and the Muhammadiyah Council for Tabligh and Tarjih on Monday (30/1).
According to Salmah Orbayinah, many issues, such as violence against women and children, occurred, and they were not indivisible from the strengthening of family roles. Thus, ‘Aisyiyah scholars and members should be engaged in answering the issues.
“‘Aisyiyah plays roles in preventing the violence and maintaining family resilience through economy, spirituality, and other areas because this movement focuses on issues of not only religion but also social, economy, society, politics, health, family resilience, climate change, and other areas,” said Salmah.
Da’wa of ‘Aisyiyah cadres is carried out through a community and from the grassroots. “Grassroot-based da’wa of Aisyiyah is enlightening, empowering, and advancing,” said Salmah.
Regarding maternal and child health, especially high cases of stunting in Indonesia, Salmah also encouraged ‘Aisyiyah scholars to speak about improving maternal and child health in the community.
“The community still really listens to what the scholars say. If campaign to reduce stunting can be voiced through the scholars, we can quickly reach the target to aleviate the number of stunting cases,” said Salmah.
According to Salmah, it is a must for ‘Aisyiyah to strengthen ‘Aisyiyah scholars. “It is essential to enhance the number of ‘Aisyiyah scholars and to reinforce them because they are expected to spread the Progressive Treatise and Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar,” she stressed.
One of ‘Aisyiyah efforts to strengthen the female scholar is through education. Internally, ‘Aisyiyah continues to improve the capacity of cadres through training.
“We hope that ‘Aisyiyah will have the great number of female scholars, so ‘Aisyiyah can contribute to this nation and foster programs supporting female scholars,” said Salmah.
