MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA— Muslims should believe the Isra’ and Mi’raj. Surah Al-Isra’ verse 1 mentions the isra’ and mi’raj, a night journey of Prophet Muhammad who traveled from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa. Even though it was out of people’s mind in that era, Prophet Muhammad’s companions believed in the isra’ and mi’raj.
In the journey, Allah told Prophet Muhammad that Muslim believers were to enroll in prayers five times a day. Deputy Chief of the ‘Aisyiyah Council for Tabligh Adib Sofia said that the isra’ and mi’raj were more than a command to pray.
“Many people recognize the isra’ and mi’raj dealing with the command of prayers, but the tangible goal is about what Muslims do after praying,” said Sofia.
After receiving the command, Prophet Muhammad focused on creating benefits for people, caring about humanitarian issues, resolving conflicts among Muslims, and abstaining from being individualistic in religion. He was concerned with building civilization instead of destroying lives. He attempted to achieve peaceful, tolerant, solid, and noble Islam as he became the last prophet.
“After getting the command, Prophet Muhammad practiced social piety. Let’s build civilization based on the Qur’an and hadith,” said Sofia.
