MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP Muhammadiyah) welcomed a visit from Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al Thani on Monday (22/6). Represented by the Treasurer General Hilman Latief, the meeting explored various cooperation opportunities between Muhammadiyah and partners from Qatar.
During the meeting, both parties discussed several areas with strong potential for future collaboration. One of the primary topics was the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based information technology. This particular discussion is an attempt to strengthen services, organizational governance, and information management within Muhammadiyah.
Sheikh Abdulaziz expressed his interest in exploring partnerships in the development of AI-based applications and systems that could support Muhammadiyah organizational activities, educational initiatives, and community services.
Responding to the proposal, Hilman welcomed the opportunities for collaboration. He emphasized that digital technologies, including AI, should be utilized effectively to improve organizational efficiency and expand benefits for society.
“Muhammadiyah welcomes the various offers for collaboration opportunities. The development of AI-based technology is highly relevant to the needs of organizations today. We are certainly open to further discussions regarding forms of cooperation that can benefit Muhammadiyah and the community,” he stated.
In addition to technology, both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian sector. Discussions included human resource capacity building, delegation exchange programs, and the development of joint initiatives aimed at promoting public welfare and enhancing humanitarian contributions at both national and international levels.
In the field of education, the meeting explored collaboration opportunities between Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah Universities and various educational institutions in Qatar. Potential areas of cooperation include academic program development, knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and human resource development.
Meanwhile, in the area of da‘wah (Islamic outreach), both parties discussed opportunities to enhance the capacity and competencies of Muhammadiyah preachers through programs that support the advancement of moderate, progressive, and socially beneficial Islamic propagation.
This exploratory dialogue serve as an important first step toward strengthening relations between Muhammadiyah and its partners in Qatar, while also creating opportunities for collaboration that contribute to the development of the Muslim community and broader societal progress.
