Download “A Treatise on Progressive Islam”

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA— The 48th Muktamar of Muhammadiyah produced a decision on “Risalah Islam Berkemajuan” (A Treatise on Progressive Islam). After publishing it in Indonesian version, the Central Board of Muhammadiyah published it in English version.

It comprises the concept and idea of “progressive Islam” which is not new to Muhammadiyah. The concept of Progressive Islam substantively and terminologically has historical references to the thoughts of Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan and the official thought of Muhammadiyah afterward, which introduced the idea of progress in the words of “kemajuan” (progress), “memajukan” (advance), and “berkemajuan” (progressive).
