MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – The Muhammadiyah Council for Publication and Information launched a new initiative to address the shortage of books in school libraries. This program, known as the Book Donation Program, aims to distribute donated books to schools and reading spaces in need.
The council facilitates the collection of donated books, which are then distributed to libraries and reading corners that require additional resources. The program recently made a symbolic book donation to the library of SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan, Yogyakarta on Wednesday, September 17.
Iwan Setiawan, a member of the MPI PP Muhammadiyah, explained that the Book Donation Program is part of the council’s ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to books.
“Our goal is to distribute books evenly to libraries and school libraries that are facing difficulties in getting new reading resources,” said Iwan.
The program encourages Muhammadiyah members and the public to donate books to the council. Donated books will be carefully distributed to libraries and schools in need.
