MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Students of SD Muhammadiyah Sapen, Yogyakarta won three gold medals and two silver medals at the International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF) 2024 held in Bali and organized by the Indonesia Young Scientist Association (IYSA).
The competition saw participation from 973 teams representing 24 countries, such as Kazakhstan, Thailand, India, Iran, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, Vietnam, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Philippines, Macau, China, Malaysia, South Africa, and Russia.
The school’s science coordinator Rita Indriyanti expressed her pride in the students’ achievements. She explained that the students underwent an online judging process to secure their medals.
Meanwhile, the staff of the public relations office of SD Muhammadiyah Sapen Ilman Soleh expressed gratitude for the students’ success, noting that it had brought honor to both Indonesia and Muhammadiyah on the global stage.
“Our science club teams were able to outperform their peers from 24 countries,” he said.
The school is committed to providing students with the necessary resources and support to continue excelling in science competitions.
“We will continue to provide our students with the best facilities and intensive, targeted training,” Ilman added.
