MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, ZLITEN – Welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, the Special Subbranch Board of Muhammadiyah (Pimpinan Ranting Istimewa Muhammadiyah/PRIM) Zliten organized a Morning Exercise and Environmental Clean-Up event on Friday (13/2).
Held in the dormitory and campus area of Al-Asmarya Islamic University, Zliten, the activity combined physical fitness and environmental awareness while strengthening ukhuwah (brotherhood) among Muhammadiyah members.
The program began at 8:30 a.m. local time (CAT) with a group exercise session, followed by a clean-up drive around the dormitory and campus grounds, and concluded with a communal meal.
Strengthening Muhammadiyah’s Presence Through Concrete Action
During its first implementation, PRIM Zliten built a drying facility for international student dormitories using recycled materials found nearby. The facility remains in use today. Subsequent activities also attracted attention from Al-Asmarya Islamic University and the wider Zliten community, even receiving coverage from several local Libyan media outlets.
Ahmad Nik Farizul, Chairperson of the Cultural and Sports Council of PRIM Zliten, stated that the initiative reflects Muhammadiyah’s effort to present a clean, enlightening face of Islam in Libya.
“The positive response from the community signals that the presence of Muhammadiyah cadres in Zliten truly brings tangible benefits. This is a collective effort of all members,” Ahmad noted.
Meanwhile, PRIM Zliten President Iflah Anugerah Ramadhan explained that the activity forms part of preparations for Ramadan by fostering a healthy ecosystem and a clean environment.
“This initiative also strengthens Muhammadiyah’s presence in Zliten through actions that positively impact society. Islam is not merely about ritual worship but is also taking concrete steps in everyday life into consideration,” he noted.
He expressed hope that members would remain committed to advancing Muhammadiyah in Zliten as an extension of the Pimpinan Cabang Istimewa Muhammadiyah Libya (PCIM Libya) through meaningful and sustainable actions.
With this spirit, PRIM Zliten remains committed to spreading the message of Progressive Islam through ongoing social, health, and environmental initiatives across Libya.
