MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, TÜRKİYE – The Special Branch of Muhammadiyah (Pimpinan Cabang Istimewa Muhammadiyah/PCIM) Türkiye officially opened its 10th anniversary celebration series on Thursday (13/2) at the hall of Araştırma ve Kültür Vakfı Merkezi Ankara. With the theme of reflecting on a decade of service, the organizers brought together leaders and cadres from various regions across Türkiye to take part in the event.
The program began with a Qur’anic recitation by Syamil Anfaresi, followed by the singing of Indonesia Raya, İstiklal Marşı, and Mars Sang Surya, performed solemnly by all participants.
Mehmet Mahitapoğlu, Chair of Araştırma ve Kültür Vakfı Merkezi Ankara, emphasized in his remarks that differences in nationality should not hinder brotherhood among Muslims. He expressed hope that Muhammadiyah cadres in Türkiye would remain consistent in embodying Islamic values in their daily lives abroad.
Meanwhile, PCIM Türkiye President for the 2024–2026 term, Dr. Ahmad Dhiyaul Haq, reminded participants that the organization’s current standing is the result of collective hard work by earlier generations of cadres.
“Being part of Muhammadiyah abroad comes with significant challenges, especially amid academic responsibilities. Yet it is consistency in small, continuous efforts that has sustained us for 10 years,” he said.
He also encouraged PCIM Türkiye to continue serving as a platform for cadres to grow into individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.
Strengthening Indonesia–Türkiye Ties Through Education
The main lecture was delivered by Mehmet Ekim, an expert from the Din İşleri Yüksek Kurulu, under the theme “Islam Illuminating the Land of Two Continents.” In a discussion moderated by Lazuardi Fadlan, he highlighted that the strength of the Muslim community—particularly Indonesia–Türkiye relations—can be enhanced through educational collaboration and student exchange programs.
He also elaborated on the concept of Khaira Ummah (the best community), describing it as a generation conscious of its life purpose and deeply aware of human values.
Beyond the formal agenda, the event featured a documentary screening showcasing the 10-year journey of PCIM Türkiye and the presentation of the Mas Mansur Award to recognize dedicated cadres. A lively atmosphere followed during the ice-breaking session and friendly gathering before the event officially concluded.
