MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, BANTUL – Expressing love for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) can be done by anyone, as the love for the Messenger is universal and not the exclusive right of any particular group.
This message was conveyed by the Chairman of the Religious Preaching Council of Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP Muhammadiyah), Fathurrahman Kamal on Sunday (5/10) during the Pengajian Ahad Kliwon (Sunday Morning Islamic Lecture) held at the Muhammadiyah Tabligh Institute.
According to Fathurrahman, expressing love for the Prophet Muhammad can take many forms such as reading his life stories recorded in various classical works such as Al-Barjanzi, Ad-Diba’i, and Simtudduror.
“The Barzanji book is actually a universal one, so it’s quite common. In one of my lectures, I’ve also discussed Al-Barzanji, Ad-Diba’i, and even Simtudduror,” he explained.
He emphasized that Muhammadiyah preachers should broaden their horizons by consulting a variety of references, instead of relying on a narrow set of sources that may lead to exclusivism. Muhammadiyah preachers must also strengthen their wisdom in delivering da’wah.
Fathurrahman also reminded that fostering ukhuwah (brotherhood) within the Muslim community cannot be achieved merely through speeches, but must also be put into practice. So that differences on secondary or subsidiary matters should not be allowed to escalate.
Through the Sunday Morning Islamic Lecture organized by the Council, it is hoped that this event can serve as a shared space for meeting and interaction, softening differences rather than sharpening them.
“Next time, we’ll invite our sisters from ‘Aisyiyah and Muslimat as well,” Fathurrahman said.
“We want to send a clear message to our community that togetherness and harmony should not only be spoken about, but truly embodied,” he added.
The Muhammadiyah Tabligh Institute has also opened its doors as a welcoming space for young people who want to deepen their religious knowledge. Various facilities and infrastructure have been prepared and continue to be developed to ensure that congregants feel comfortable when they come. (Bintang Adrian)
