MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – President of Muhammadiyah’s Central Board (PP Muhammadiyah), Haedar Nashir, extended his congratulations on the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) on Sunday (5/10).
In his statement, Haedar emphasized TNI’s strategic role as the nation’s frontline defender in safeguarding Indonesia’s sovereignty and national security amid increasingly complex challenges.
“On behalf of Muhammadiyah’s Central Board, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces. TNI has come a long way in defending and upholding the Republic of Indonesia,” Haedar said.
He stressed the importance of TNI continuing to strengthen its capacity to face both domestic and global threats.
“Now and in the future, as we face increasingly complex threats and challenges, both from within the country and from the global arena, we hope that TNI, at the age of 80, will grow ever stronger as the frontline force defending national security and sovereignty, including safeguarding the people’s livelihood,” he continued.
Haedar also expressed hope that TNI will remain firmly united with all national forces and state institutions in preserving national unity.
“We also expressed hope that TNI will continue to solidify itself alongside all components of the nation and state institutions to preserve and strengthen national unity. Together with the National Police Department and other national forces, TNI must stand as a strong wall against any threats and challenges,” he asserted.
Furthermore, he reminded TNI to always put the interests of the nation above all else.
“We hope TNI will continue to stand as a force that prioritizes national interests above all others in the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity). More specifically, we encourage the strengthening of TNI’s moral foundation as part of the national force, working hand in hand with all elements of the nation to ensure that Indonesia remains a strong, sovereign, just, and prosperous nation,” Haedar Stated.
Concluding his remarks, Haedar offered prayers for the nation.
