MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Special Branch of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) Sudan held a strategic meeting with Sudanese ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Yassir Mohammed Ali Mohammed.
The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of PCIM Sudan, Rifa’an Ali Hafidz, along with his team, and discussed the potential partnership in the fields of education, cadre development, economy, and business. Ambassador Yassir responded positively, expressing his readiness to support the proposed processes, cooperation offers, and program initiated by PCIM Sudan.
“There are various programs that can be further developed, such as a double degree program between Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Universities and several universities in Sudan. We also hope Muhammadiyah can become a strategic partner in supporting Sudan’s recovery and revitalization,” he said on Tuesday afternoon Sudan time (30/9).
In the economic and business sectors, the Sudanese Ambassador also opened wide opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the export and import of Sudanese peanuts. He revealed that the Sudanese government, through its embassy, plans to hold a Business Expo that will bring together entrepreneurs from both countries.
“The Sudanese Embassy is opening business cooperation opportunities, especially in the export and import of Sudanese peanuts. We are planning to organize a Business Expo that will bring together entrepreneurs from both countries,” Yassir explained.
In the area of cadre development, PCIM Sudan has recommended to the Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development of Muhammadiyah Central Board to explore educational cooperation that would enable Muhammadiyah cadres and local students in Sudan to continue their studies at Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Universities in Indonesia.
This meeting marks a significant first step in strengthening bilateral relations between Sudan and Muhammadiyah, while opening the door to strategic cross-sector collaboration in the future. (Bintang Adrian)
