MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah strongly condemns the ongoing violence perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people. In a recent dialogue forum, Muhammadiyah Chairperson Syafiq Mughni urged the international community to take immediate action to stop the atrocities.
The violence inflicted by Israel upon the Palestinian people is a blatant violation of human rights, justice, and common sense.
Syafiq highlighted the paradoxical nature of these atrocities occurring in the modern era, a time when humanity should be prioritizing values such as compassion and justice. He called on all religious and social organizations to join the efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
“As a religious and social organization, Muhammadiyah feels a moral obligation to support the Palestinian people and to alleviate their suffering,” said Syafiq during the Dialektika TVMU forum titled “A Year of Palestinian Genocide: Who Cares?” held on Saturday, October 12.
Syafiq urged world leaders to exert pressure on Israel to end its occupation, cease all forms of violence, and recognize the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
“Without justice and an end to oppression, there is no peace in the Middle East, especially in Palestine,” he added.
Syafiq called on the Indonesian people to remain committed to supporting the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the importance of solidarity and collective action in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Indonesia has a long history of supporting the Palestinian cause. We must strengthen this commitment and ensure that it is not forgotten.
Syafiq emphasized that the key to addressing the Palestinian issue is a combination of compassion, conscience, and reason.
“The atrocities committed by Israel are undeniable. It is imperative that we all work together to end this injustice,” said Syafiq.
He also called on Muslim countries to unite and lead a global movement to support the Palestinian cause. He urged Indonesia to play a pivotal role in fostering international solidarity to achieve peace and justice in the Middle East, especially Palestine.
