MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JORDAN – Muhammadiyah, through its Department of Charity Management and Muhammadiyah Aid, supported by the Board of Muhammadiyah Special Branch in Jordan, has distributed humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees in Jordan.
The first phase of distribution took place at Al Jhaufah Camp, one of the oldest Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan.
Chairperson of Department of Charity Management of Muhammadiyah (Lazismu), Ahmad Imam Mujadid Rais, stated that this aid is a trust from donors and benefactors who care deeply about the plight of Palestinian refugees.
“Praise be to Allah, today we are at Jhaufah Camp to deliver aid. God willing, we will also continue to Wihdat Camp to distribute similar aid, including providing oatmeal for the refugees,” he said on Friday (September 12).
Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan have existed since the Nakba in 1948, the wave of displacement in 1967, and have continued to grow after the events of October 7, 2023.
“We are merely intermediaries for the trust placed in us by donors. Please pray that LAZISMU remains steadfast in delivering aid to our brothers and sisters in Palestine,” Rais added.
Previously, Lazismu had also distributed aid in collaboration with the Crisis Center Forum and with the support of the United Arab Emirates Air Force. Lazismu reaffirmed its commitment to continue sending humanitarian aid in various forms, whether by air or land, to help ease the burden of Palestinian refugees.
