MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA — Central Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah welcomed a visit from Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Auto India, on Monday (15/9) at PP Muhammadiyah Office in Jakarta. The meeting, attended by PP Muhammadiyah’s General Treasurer Hilman Latief, explored potential collaborations in business, investment, education, and healthcare.
Hilman Latief expressed hope that the visit would open new opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.
“We had wide-ranging discussions. We learned that we share the same concerns, not only about investment and business in Indonesia, but also about the commitment to social and humanitarian missions. VinFast, apparently, has established hospitals and universities in Vietnam. With this common ground, we look forward to exploring collaboration in these areas,” Hilman said.
VinFast Auto India, a multinational company with operations across Asia, has accomplished major contributions in social projects. The company has invested around USD 1.2 billion to establish 55 schools and universities as well as 13 hospitals across India and Asia.
In this regard, Pham expressed his intention to learn more from Muhammadiyah, noting its role as a global community organisation which has provided significant contributions, not only in Indonesia but also worldwide.
“We are impressed by Muhammadiyah’s remarkable achievements over more than a century. Muhammadiyah has greatly contributed to public welfare and has been intensively focusing particularly on education and healthcare. All of those align closely with our organisation’s vision,” Pham said.
The strategic meeting was also attended by Ibnu Tsani Director of Department of Charity Management (LazisMu), Gunawan Hidayat Secretary of LazisMu, Syafii Latuconsina Advisory Board of Experts from the Council for Community Empowerment (MPM) PP Muhammadiyah, and Nasrullah Treasurer of MPM PP Muhammadiyah.
Echoing Hilman Latief’s remarks, Pham Sanh Chau expressed optimism that both parties could further collaborate, particularly in education, healthcare, and social welfare.
“We hope both sides will continue to learn from each other and share experiences, which ultimately brings broad benefits to society,” he concluded.
