Muhammadiyah Directs Friday Prayer Infaq Toward Disaster Relief Efforts

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Haedar Nashir, the President of Muhammadiyah, has instructed all Muhammadiyah-affiliated mosques to redirect their Friday prayer infaq (charity collections) to support victims of recent natural disasters, particularly severe floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and other affected regions.

The directive is based on a formal decision issued by Muhammadiyah regarding the collection of Friday prayer donations across its mosque network, forming part of the organization’s coordinated response to the series of disasters striking the country.

The instruction also applies to all Muhammadiyah charitable enterprises, as well as mosque administrators operating within the organization’s ecosystem.

Funds collected on December 12, 19, and 26 December 2025, will be consolidated and distributed through Lazismu and Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) to ensure an integrated and well-coordinated relief effort.

“At the same time, and after the collections are made, detailed reporting on the funds raised and distributed must be submitted to the appropriate Muhammadiyah Leadership,” Haedar emphasized.

He called on all Muhammadiyah members to take part actively in these efforts as an expression of solidarity and compassion for those suffering from the disasters.

“Let us, as members of Muhammadiyah, strive to contribute as fully as possible through these donations,” he said. “This is what we can do as an expression of our brotherhood with those affected by floods, landslides, and other calamities across the country, especially in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
