MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MAKASSAR — The Muhammadiyah Council for Cadre Development and Human Resources (MPKSDI) launched the Quranmu digital learning app in the council national meeting at Uviersitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar Auditorium on July 27.
The Quranmu app, developed by Muhammadiyah Universitas Saintek Muhammadiyah (USM) in collaboration with the MPKSDI, addresses people’s need for learning to recite the Qur’an, according to Dr. Faiz Rafdhi, M.Com, the Rector of USM and Head of Division IV of the MPKSDI.
“The Quranmu app is tailored to help people learn to recite the Quran independently. It utilizes AI (Artificial Intelligence) to provide guidance on pronunciation and tajwid (rules of recitation),” said Dr. Fai.
Quranmu uses AI to teach Arabic letter writing, check pronunciation, and evaluate recitation. It offers 20 free worship features and will be further developed.
The app also facilitates teachers in evaluating and testing students’ Qur’an understanding through theoretical quizzes, exercises, and exams.
“Quranmu offers several advantages that make it an appealing choice for those interested in learning to recite the Quran,” said Faiz.
Quranmu Answers Qur’an Recitation Issues
Faiz mentioned that 90% of 47,221 Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia face challenges in Quranic education.
First, parents cannot monitor their children’s Quranic learning development. Second, schools and universities have no system to monitor students’ Quranic learning development. Third, there is not any standardization of Quranic education.
Quranmu provides three solutions: technology for Quranic learning in education, learning tracking for easy monitoring, and a technology-based ecosystem for Quranic learning.
“Quranmu is expected to advance Islamic da’wa in accordance with the contemporary developments,” said Faiz.
