MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah, visited the Muhammadiyah Office of Jakarta on Wednesday (7/6).
Faisal was warmly welcomed by the Chairmen of Muhammadiyah Anwar Abbas, Saad Ibrahim, and Syafiq Mughni and members of the Muhammadiyah International Relations and Cooperation Board (LHKI).
Saad Ibrahim said the meeting discussed challenges faced by Muslims worldwide and was addressed to strengthen the relations and cooperation between the Saudi Arabian government and Muhammadiyah.
“The ambassador mentioned that the relations was built on a sense of brotherhood. Therefore, if we base this relations on a sincere connection among Muslims, it will sustain and bring significant benefits to the people,” said Saad Ibrahim.
Furthermore, Syafiq Mughni mentioned that possible collaboration between the Saudi Arabian government and Muhammadiyah involves areas of education, Hajj pilgrimage, and social aspects.
“We discussed various topics, including education, and we are eager to present our proposal for establishing collaborations between higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia and Muhammadiyah educational institutions from primary to higher education,” said Syafiq.
“We also explored the potential for collaboration in humanitarian actions in several countries such as Southern Thailand and Southern Philippines. Overall, it was a fruitful and productive meeting,” said Syafiq.
