MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, KUALA LUMPUR – The Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) and the ‘Aisyiyah Special Branch (PCIA) of Malaysia distributed 34 sacrificial animals during Eid al-Adha 1444 H.
Of the 34 sacrificial animals, there were 12 cows and 22 goats. This number differed from the previous year, namely 14 cows and 15 goats.
The Chairman of PCIM of Malaysia Muhammad Ali Imran mentioned the sacrificial meat was distributed to Indonesian students in Malaysia, local residents in Batu 12 Gombak, and Rohingya people in Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, a portion equivalent to seven goats was sent to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Since 2011, the PCIM of Muhammadiyah Malaysia has centralized the qurban in Kuala Lumpur, following the regulations set by the Malaysian government. To perform qurban, the PCIM and PCIA of Malaysia engaged other organizations such as IMM (Muhammadiyah Student Association). Indeed, the PCIM and PCIA of Malaysia currently have nine sub-branches.
Moreover, the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono, attended the qurban. He expressed delight in seeing the unity among Indonesian citizens in performing worship and qurban.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and togetherness. He wished that everyone involved in the sacrificial process, including Muslims who perform qurban, recipients, and the organizing committee, would receive blessings.
“It is an honor to have Mr. Ambassador, Hermono here as ones who was used to coming here were the representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Alhamdulillah, this is truly an honor,” said Muhammad Ali Imran on Thursday (June 29).
