Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah’s Mission: Strengthening Ten Pillars of Resilient Families

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – President of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah (NA) Ariati Dina Puspitasari mentioned that women’s roles are constrained by patriarchal cultural norms, restricting their participation in both domestic and public spheres and subjecting them to subordination. Additionally, women face the risk of both physical and structural violence.

The National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan) revealed 457,895 violence cases against women in 2022. Mental health and a high maternal mortality rate of 305 per 100,000 live births pose significant challenges for NA in accelerating its services.

“As the young women’s organization, we have a collective responsibility to collaborate with internal and government stakeholders, as well as the private sectors, in addressing the growing issues faced by women,” said Ariati Dina Puspitasari in the 95th anniversary reflection of NA with the theme of ‘ Resilient Women Enlightening Indonesia’ on Saturday (July 15).

NA has a significant role in advancing Indonesian women. Ariati Dina Puspitasari said the need to strengthen the 10 pillars of Resilient Young Families in Nasyiatul Aisyiyah (KMTNA), established in 2016, to enhance the commitment to service.

The ten pillars encompass 1) Strong Faith and Noble Morality; 2) Physical, Spiritual, and Environmental Health; 3) Independence; 4) Justice with the Spirit of Al-Ma’un; 5) Peace Mission; 6) Democracy; 7) Anti-Violence; 8) Equal Access; 9) Environmental Friendliness/Eco-family; 10) Disaster Response.

“As members of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah, let us stand united in supporting women facing these challenges. Together, we can empower them to build resilience amidst climate crises, environmental degradation, and social disasters, embodying the theme of today’s reflection, ‘Resilient Women Enlightening Indonesia’,” said Ariati Dina Puspitasari.

“We aspire for Nasyiatul Aisyiyah to enlighten Indonesia’s future, fostering a blessed society and nation through the blessings of Allah,” said Ariati Dina Puspitasari.
