MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, CIREBON — The Muhammadiyah Local Board (PDM) of Cirebon, through its Department of Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah Management (Lazismu), has mobilized a rapid response to provide aid to residents affected by the devastating floods that struck Cirebon Timur, West Java.
Novan Hardiyanto, Chairman of the PDM of Cirebon, expressed his deep concern for the victims of the flood. “As part of Muhammadiyah, we feel responsible for providing assistance and support to those in need,” he stated.
Muhammadiyah, supported by the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC), swiftly initiated an assessment of the situation to ensure that the aid provided would meet the most pressing needs on the ground.
“Based on our team’s assessment, clean water supply and healthcare services are among the most urgent requirements at the moment. Muhammadiyah, through Lazismu, is present to address these needs, and we have also involved medical personnel from the hospital of Univesitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon (UMC),” Novan explained.
The assistance provided by Muhammadiyah encompasses a range of basic necessities, including ready-to-eat meals such as empal, rendang, and steak. The organization is working tirelessly to ensure that the aid reaches the flood victims quickly and efficiently, helping them through this difficult time.
Novan also emphasized the importance of collaboration and solidarity in facing natural disasters.
“We hope that this assistance can ease the burden of the victims and support them in the recovery process. Let us all come together to provide support and care for our fellow brothers and sisters who are experiencing hardship,” he added.
In addition to providing direct assistance to the flood victims, Lazismu of Cirebon is also actively raising funds and other donations to expedite the recovery and rehabilitation process in East Cirebon.
“We would like to express our gratitude to all the donors who have contributed to helping overcome the flood disaster in East Cirebon. We hope that this disaster will end soon,” said Mohamad Ranudin, Chairman of the Lazismu of Cirebon.
Ranudin also announced that the donation is still open to the public and institutions that wish to help. He assured that all donations channeled through Lazismu will be distributed to those in need.
