MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PONOROGO – The Secretary of Muhammadiyah Muhammad Sayuti highlighted Muhammadiyah’s remarkable journey of 115 years to contribute to development.
Far from waning in influence, Sayuti emphasized that Muhammadiyah has continued to shine brightly, establishing countless mosques, hospitals, educational institutions, and social and economic enterprises. This tireless dedication, he said, indicates Muhammadiyah vitality and relevance.
Sayuti said that Muhammadiyah members should be grateful to have been chosen by Allah to be part of the world’s largest Islamic organization. This movement has a global reach, with branches in over 30 countries.
“One of Muhammadiyah’s most significant achievements is the university establishment abroad, which is the Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM). Muhammadiyah is the only Indonesian organization that has successfully established a university overseas,” said Sayuti during the preaching at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) on Sunday, September 29.
Moreover, Sayuti revealed that Muhammadiyah also operates schools and kindergartens in several countries, including Malaysia, Australia, Lebanon, and others.
In Indonesia, Muhammadiyah has played a crucial role in providing equitable access to education, especially in remote and minority Muslim areas, such as eastern Indonesia.
