MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Lazismu, the Muhammadiyah Institute for Zakat, Infaq, and Alms Management, distributed school kits for children who survived a fire incident in Duri Utara Village, Tambora District, West Jakarta.
“Lazismu provides 79 school kits for vulnerable school-age survivors. May the aid benefit the children,” said the Humanitarian and Environmental Program Manager of Lazismu Nazhori Author, accompanied by a member of the Lazismu of Jakarta, in the aid handover on Wednesday (August 2). The aid was symbolically handed over to Julia and Roinah, representing RW 05 and RW 07.
Nazhori Author mentioned that his team had coordinated with the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta).
Lazismu came to the fire location and met the survivors. The tragic incident on July 8 leaves sorrow in the people. One of them said that the fire happened during Maghrib prayer time. The residents got panic, so they could not save their belongings.
One of the residents, Julia, said that some had already returned to their houses while the others stayed with their relatives. She also said that their fire burnt all of his belongings.
“The thing left was only the clothes I wore,” said Julia.
