MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Lazismu has once again mobilized humanitarian support for survivors in Palestine by participating in the “Join Action for Palestine 4” program initiated by the Association of Zakat Management Organizations (POROZ). On Sunday (30/11), the Lazismu delegation officially departed for Egypt through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.
For this humanitarian mission, Lazismu Central is reinforced by Lazismu of Central Java and Lazismu of North Sumatra. A total of seven amil (zakat officers) have been deployed to join POROZ in distributing humanitarian aid to palestinian refugees and survivors.
VIce Chairperson of the Lazismu Central Board, Barry Adithya, stated that the departure of the Lazismu team is a form of commitment to continuously take part in international humanitarian duties.
“The humanitarian team is departing from Jakarta to join POROZ and other teams in Join Action for Palestine 4,” he said.
Barry explained that the assistance to be distributed consists of food packages, warm clothing for winter, and other basic necessities urgently needed by Palestinian refugees.
“We ask for your prayers so that our journey goes smoothly and we can safely return to our homeland. Through this humanitarian mission, we hope that the trust given by all donors through Lazismu can provide real benefits for the people of Palestine,” he added.
The national zakat institutions joining POROZ in this humanitarian mission include Lazismu, Lazisnu, Baitul Maal Hidayatullah, LAZNAS Dewan Dakwah, Wahdah Inspirasi Rakyat, and LAZNAS Al-Irsyad. (Bintang Adrian)
