EN.MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SURAKARTA- The 15th National Congress of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah has officially concluded, with Salmah Orbayinah, President of the Central Board of ‘Aisyiyah, presiding over the closing ceremony.
The conclusion marked the end of the organization’s highest deliberative forum held from August 6–8, 2026. The congress also elected Monica Subastia as President of the Central Board of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah for the 2026–2030 term.
In her address, Salmah Orbayinah, widely known as Bu Bayin, delivered three key messages on leadership responsibility, cadre development, and advancing the organization’s movement.
“This will certainly require extraordinary discipline and effort,” she said.
She also urged cadres to go beyond simply responding to change.
“We must remain active, not merely by following or adapting to change, but also by creating change,” she said, calling on cadres to pursue meaningful and sustained transformation.
Her message underscored the need for Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah to move beyond simply responding to the times. Instead, the organization should develop ideas, innovations, and initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to society.
Light the Torch of Civilization
Meanwhile, Monica Subastia, the newly elected President of the Central Board of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah for 2026–2030 term, said in her inaugural address that the responsibility she now carries must be shouldered collectively.
She stressed that the leadership transition was not a moment for celebration, but a serious moral and religious responsibility.
“To be Nasyiah is to be Muhammadiyah. To be Muhammadiyah is to be Muslim. And to truly practice Islam means ensuring that goodness does not stop with ourselves,” Monica said.
She also called for a collective movement that reaches all segments of society, including communities at the grassroots level.
“Because Nasyiah’s task is not merely to light the torch. We must ensure that its light reaches everyone across the world,” she said.
The closing of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah 15th National Congress also marked a leadership transition and reaffirmed the organization’s direction. Under its new leadership for 2026–2030, Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah is expected to strengthen its work in Islamic outreach, cadre development, young women’s empowerment, and community service.
Held under the theme “Young Women Advancing Civilization for a Sustainable Future,” the congress served as a platform for young Muhammadiyah women to consolidate their movement and formulate strategic responses to future challenges. The spirit of the congress must extend beyond the forum itself and take shape through concrete action in communities. (Bhisma)
