In welcoming the new leadership, Haedar Nashir, President of Muhammadiyah, urged Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah to lead its movement with wisdom and sound judgement.

He said that while intellectual abilities can grow, leadership also requires wisdom, particularly when facing difficult situations.

“Our intelligence can increase, but leadership also teaches us to be wise and exercise sound judgement. So do not complain when problems arise, even when your heart is broken inside. That is what it means to be a leader,” Haedar said.

Meanwhile, Monica Subastia, President of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment in her inaugural address.

She described Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah, the young women’s organization affiliated with Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah, as home for progressive women cadres.

“We want to turn the spirit behind our programs into a movement. Our strength does not lie solely in the Central Board. It also comes from our branches and subbranches, from the grassroots,” Monica said.

She emphasized that the organization wanted to move beyond a top-down approach and build a movement rooted in local communities.

“We no longer want to speak only from the top down. Instead, we want to bring the movement all the way to the grassroots, allowing it to grow from the bottom up,” she said enthusiastically.

With these messages and commitments, the 2026–2030 leadership is expected to usher in a movement that continues to grow, adapt, and benefit a wider community. Its contributions are intended to extend beyond religious and national life to serve humanity as a whole. (Bhisma)
