MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MESIR – Lazismu’s commitment to supporting the people of Palestine continues through the provision of nutritious food supplies. A full truckload of wheat has been delivered and is now being processed into bread to meet the food needs of Gaza residents during the ongoing crisis.
The wheat is being processed at a food factory in Salheya Jadidah City, Egypt, Once baked into bread, the aid will be distributed to the people of Gaza as part of efforts to meet their nutritional needs amid the humanitarian emergency.
The visit and handover were led directly by Barry Adhitya, Deputy Chair of Lazismu Central Board. The wheat-processing factory in Salheya Jadidah is known as one of the largest among four similar factories in Egypt and serves orders for several conflict-affected regions, including Palestine.
Barry explained that the wheat being processed is a blend of local Egyptian wheat and imported wheat to ensure quality and sustainability in production. “The factory in Salheya is one of the biggest among the four wheat-processing facilities in Egypt. It supplies orders to various conflict zones, especially Palestine,” he stated.
To ensure the aid reaches Palestinian residents effectively and accurately, Lazismu has established strategic collaboration with local humanitarian authorities. “Lazismu is partnering with the Egyptian Red Crescent so that the aid can enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing,” he added.
The wheat-based food aid is expected to take around seven days to arrive and be distributed in Gaza starting Tuesday (2/12). It is hoped that this assistance will help meet the basic food needs of Palestinians affected by the prolonged conflict.
At the end of the visit, Barry conveyed Lazismu’s appreciation and sense of responsibility to the Indonesian people. “Our presence here is to ensure that the donations entrusted by the people of Indonesia through Lazismu are truly delivered well,” he said.
This wheat distribution initiative forms part of Lazismu’s continuous humanitarian efforts, reaffirming its commitment to channel every donation with transparency, accountability, and precision. (Bintang Adrian)
