MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah has joined hands with the U.S.-based Zhenghe Forum to establish the first-ever Palestine Holocaust Museum. The announcement came during a heartwarming meeting on Wednesday, January 17th, at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Universitas Jakarta (UMJ), where Muhammadiyah Chairman Syafiq Mughni welcomed Zhenghe Forum President Prof. Haiyun Ma with open arms.
Mughni, himself a seasoned advocate for international humanitarian efforts, expressed his organization’s unwavering support for the museum initiative. “We see the Palestine Holocaust Museum as a powerful tool for remembering the Palestinian struggle and inspiring a global commitment to peace,” he declared, his voice echoing the aspirations of millions across the world.
Prof. Ma, a scholar of Chinese history and a passionate advocate for Islamic values, elaborated on the museum’s vision. “This museum, envisioned to be housed within the walls of UMJ, will be a living testament to the Palestinian people’s journey,” she explained. “From their ancient roots to the ongoing struggle for freedom, we aim to document and educate, ensuring the echoes of their story resonate through generations.”
“We hope UMJ can initiate the first Palestine Holocaust Museum, and Muhammadiyah can establish the project,” said Prof. Haiyun.
Beyond bricks and mortar, the Palestine Holocaust Museum signifies a powerful alliance bridging continents and faiths. It speaks volumes about the enduring human spirit, the unwavering pursuit of remembrance, and the collective dream of a world where peace prevails. As Zhenghe Forum and Muhammadiyah embark on this crucial journey, their hope is that the museum will become a beacon of education and empathy, drawing people closer to the Palestinian story and inspiring action towards a brighter future for all.
