EN.MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA — The Central Board of Muhammadiyah has called on its leader at all levels, Muhammadiyah Social Enterprises, and mosque administrators to collect and distribute Friday prayer donations for communities affected by the earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.
The appeal is set out in a circular issued by the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, Circular No. 18/EDR/I.0/H/2026, on collecting Friday prayer donations for humanitarian assistance to earthquake victims in Flores.
The donations will be collected during Friday prayers on Aug. 21. They are intended to help meet the needs of communities affected by the disaster in Flores.
A Coordinated Humanitarian Response
Under the circular, the Muhammadiyah Central Board called for the collection and distribution of donations to be coordinated through its Department of Charity Management (Lazismu )and Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) at each organizational level.
The effort reflects Muhammadiyah’s One Muhammadiyah One Response (OMOR) approach. Through the initiative, humanitarian contributions from Muhammadiyah members can be consolidated and delivered in a coordinated and targeted manner.
The Central Board of Muhammadiyah also asked each implementing unit to prepare reports on the collection and distribution of donations. These reports should then be submitted to Muhammadiyah leaders at the appropriate organizational level, in accordance with applicable procedures.
The initiative reflects Muhammadiyah’s solidarity with communities facing the aftermath of the Flores earthquake. Through a collective effort across the organization, Friday prayer donations are thus expected to provide tangible support to affected communities.
