Flores Earthquake Relief: Redirecting Friday Prayer Donations

CIRCULAR OF THE CENTRAL BOARD OF MUHAMMADIYAH NO. 18/EDR/I.0/H/2026 ON COLLECTING FRIDAY PRAYER DONATIONS FOR HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO THE REFUGEE OF FLORES EARTHQUAKE

The Central Board of Muhammadiyah extends its deepest condolences to those affected by the Flores earthquake. 

In Response, the Central Board of Muhammadiyah calls on: 

1. Muhammadiyah Boards at all levels;
2. Leaders of Muhammadiyah Social Entreprises; and
3. Mosque administrators under the Muhammadiyah organization;

to take the following steps:

1. Collect and distribute Friday prayer donations on Friday, 21 August, 2026, specifically for humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. The fundraising and distribution efforts should proceed in a coordinated manner through the Department of Charity Management (Lazismu) and the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) at their respective levels. This coordination aims to ensure an integrated response to both fundraising and aid distribution in line with the spirit of One Muhammadiyah One Response (OMOR).
2. Prepare a report on the fundraising efforts and submit it to the Muhammadiyah leadership at the next organizational level. 

This circular is hereby issued for implementation and appropriate follow-up.
