MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP Muhammadiyah), Syafiq Mughni, received a visit from Yuyu Sutisna, the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, to discuss strengthening educational cooperation and increasing the number of Muhammadiyah students studying in Morocco.
Ambassador Yuyu noted that there are currently around 370 Indonesian students pursuing education across 10 cities in Morocco.
Syafiq welcomed the initiative, reaffirming Muhammadiyah’s commitment to expanding its international education network, particularly in Morocco.
“Educational cooperation through scholarships for Muhammadiyah cadres will continue to be strengthened. Moreover, the government, through the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP), also provides full scholarships for outstanding Indonesian citizens, both domestically and abroad. We hope that scholarship recipients will return to Indonesia after graduation and apply their knowledge for the nation’s progress,” Syafiq said on Monday (11/11).
Ambassador Yuyu also emphasized that opportunities to study in Morocco remain wide open and should be utilized effectively. He further invited Muhammadiyah to participate in Durus Hassania, a high-level Islamic studies forum organized by the Kingdom of Morocco ahead of Ramadan.
The meeting marked a strategic step in strengthening educational diplomacy between Muhammadiyah and the Indonesian government, paving the way for Muhammmadiyah’s young generation to broaden their global knowledge and experience. (Bintang Adrian)
