MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – The Minister of Social and Family Development of Singapore Masagos Zulkifli visited at the Muhammadiyah Office Jakarta on Tuesday (14/3).
Masagos Zulkifli was welcomed by the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Saad Ibrahim, the General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti, and the Secretary of Muhammadiyah Izzul Muslimin.
The Chairman of Muhammadiyah Saad Ibrahim mentioned that the meeting discussed several aspects to strengthen cooperation between Muhammadiyah and the Singaporean government in various areas.
Muhammadiyah has cooperated with Singapore through the Temasek Foundation during the pandemic as supplying health equipment that was rare.
Indeed, the Minister of Education and Minister of Religious Affairs of Singapore Maliki Osman visited the Muhammadiyah Office of Jakarta in September 2022.
The Singaporean government and Muhammadiyah discussed acceleration of quality of Muhammadiyah higher education institutions, particularly the program of Islamic college.
Saad Ibrahim expected that the meeting with the Minister of Social and Family Development of Singapore could reinforce Muhammadiyah relations with international parties.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Social and Family Development of Singapore Masagos Zulkifli said the visit aimed to bolster relations with Muhammadiyah.
They also discussed religious life believed by Singapore and Muhammadiyah, namely a progressive, inclusive, and moderate religious life.
