MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA—The Muhammadiyah Zakat Management Body (Lazismu) of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta raised 2.2 billion rupiahs through One Muhammadiyah One Response (OMOR), a response to disasters in Indonesia.
Chairman of the Regional Board of Muhammadiyah of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Gita Danu Pranata mentioned that Muhammadiyah won’t remain silent when disasters hit.
“This movement will always endeavor to help disaster-affected people,” Gita Danu said on a press released on Wednesday (14/12).
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Regional Board of Muhammadiyah of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Arif Jamali Muis thanked the donors for trusting Lazismu to distribute their funds to disaster-affected people throughout Indonesia.
“Muhammadiyah will always assist all Indonesian people affected by disasters,” Arif Jamali Muis said.
Besides, Chair of the Lazismu of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Cahyono said that the funds would be utilized to help the Cianjur earthquake-affected people and other disaster-affected Indonesian people.
For the Cianjur disaster relief, Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center of Yogyakarta Subkhan has coordinated with the Muhammadiyah volunteers.
Muhammadiyah provided emergency shelters, worship places, and other aids including reestablishing a local Muhammadiyah branch.
