MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SAMARINDA – President of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir highlighted that democracy, human rights, and pluralism in Indonesia require continuous attention and protection.
Haedar emphasized that religious organizations, including Muhammadiyah, which has existed even before Indonesia’s independence, should actively protect these values.
“National and state life is built on three core principles: Pancasila, religion as practiced in this country, and culture,” mentioned Haedar in Samarinda, on Saturday, February 22 .
Haedar pointed out that democratic developments have become more prominent since the reformation era. He called on religious organizations, including Muhammadiyah, to play an active role in ensuring that democracy continues to thrive.
He also urged Indonesians to preserve national unity despite the country’s diversity, which spans ethnic, racial, and social backgrounds.
