Digital Transformation and Community Resilience: Key Focus at Communication Conference in Malaysia

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MALAYSIA – The Association of Communication Education of Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (APIK PTMA) conducted the 6th Jogjakarta Communication Conference, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April 30, 2025. This year’s conference focused on “Advancing Regional Resilience: Digital Transformation Impact on Society in Southeast Asia.”

The hybrid conference gathered 150 presentes from various countries, joining both in person and online, to explore how digital technology is reshaping Southeast Asian societies.

“In Southeast Asia, technologies like AI, IoT, and e-commerce are boosting economic growth, improving regional resilience, and helping tackle issues such as climate change and social inequality. However, we still face challenges like data privacy, cybersecurity, and the digital gap,” said Chairul Fajri, Chair of the APIK PTMA.

Fajri stressed the need to understand the impact of digital transformation on communities, with a focus on building resilience, promoting inclusive growth, and strengthening digital literacy and online safety.
