MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SAMPANG – Minister of Primary and Secondary Education and Secretary General of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu’ti, attended the 113th anniversary reception of Muhammadiyah organized by the Sampang Regional Board (PDM Sampang) on Madura Island.
The anniversary celebration, held on December 16 at the courtyard of Al Ittihad Middle School in Sampang Regency, was held alongside “Indonesia’s Great Children Morning Exercise” program, involving students from various schools across the region.
In his remarks, Abdul Mu’ti expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit sampang. He noted that participating in the exercise with students left him feeling healthy, energized, and joyful.
On the occasion, he encouraged students to practice the Seven Habits of Indonesia’s Great Children, which include waking up early, worshipping regularly, exercising, eating healthy and nutritious food, enjoy learning, engaging in community life, and going to bed early.
“We must remain enthusiastic and grow into a healthy and resilient generation. A developed nation is one that is knowledgeable, skilled, versatile, and whose younger generation is physically and spiritually healthy,” Abdul Mu’ti said.
He also recited a short rhyme highlighting optimism for Sampang’s future, “Tengah malam gemerlap bintang menerangi. Masa depan Sampang akan cemerlang kalau kita percaya diri,” which translates into, “At midnight, stars in splendor gleam, Sampang will shine if we believe the dream.”
The message, he explained, was also directed at PDM Sampang, encouraging confidence and collective strength through knowledge, unity, and versatility to deliver broader benefits to society.
During his visit, Abdul Mu’ti inspected Al Ittihad Middle School, which has recently completed its revitalization project ahead of schedule. He expressed hope that improved educational facilities would contribute to broader community development.
“This school can also provide equivalency education services, ensuring that access to quality education reaches all segments of society without anyone being left behind,” he stated.
The inauguration was marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and the signing of a commemorative plaque, symbolizing the completion of the revitalization of administrative offices, the school health unit, and two classrooms. (Bintang Adrian)
