How Has Muhammadiyah Been Established for More Than a Century?

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PONOROGO—Muhammadiyah is one of the Islamic organizations which has been established for more than a century.  

Chairman of Muhammadiyah Ahmad Dahlan Rais mentioned that Muhammadiyah gets more developed so that many people across the globe wonder how it occurs.  

First, Muhammadiyah provides aids for all people regardless their backgrounds. 

“Muhammadiyah exists provinces where a majority is Catholics” Dahlan said in the Sunday Morning Preaching of Al-Manar at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on Sunday (18/9). 

Muhammadiyah commits to educating, providing health access, and developing the nation no matter where it is, including in areas where Muslims are a minority. Indeed, in 3T (the outermost, frontline, and disadvantaged) areas where the government hasn’t provided access to education, Muhammadiyah schools are already founded.  

Second, what Muhammadiyah has done is because of Allah, and this movement always attempts to expand its benefits. Muhammadiyah believes that the endless services will always be performed till the end of the day. 

“Muhammadiyah will remain to exist if this movement always benefits the world,” Dahlan said. 

“We may pray to live long, but we also have to ask that we live to benefit others,” Dahlan said.
