Concerned about food shortages plaguing Palestinians, the Muhammadiyah Department of Charity Management (Lazismu) provided meals for breaking the Ramadan fast to Muslims in Gaza.
Lazismu collaborated with Gazze Destek Derngi (GDD), a humanitarian organization dedicated to improving living conditions in areas like Turkey, Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, to distributed the meals for two days, March 31 and April 1. GDD distributed ifthar meals to 1,600 beneficiaries in Rafah and Khan Yunis.
Hani Tsurayya, Director of GDD Gaza, expressed her deep appreciation for Lazismu’s support, particularly amidst the ongoing conflict and occupation in the Gaza Strip.
“We are incredibly grateful to Lazismu and Muhammadiyah for this assistance. It’s a true blessing for the people of Gaza, who are facing immense hardship,” said Tsurayya.
On Lazismu’s press release on Saturday (April 6), it was also mentioned that the distribution is currently being carried out to temporary refugee camps in Rafah and the Central Province. The food is distributed in pairs or 2 portions for each family. This assistance is felt to be very meaningful for the displaced Palestinians, a blessing in the midst of the holy month.
