MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, IRAN – The Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Iran recently engaged in discussions with the Department of International Cooperation of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) to explore potential collaboration for the 2024 TUMS International Winter School program.
During the meeting, attended by Chairman of the PCIM of Iran Syahrul Ramadhan,and Vice Chairman of External Affairs Laila Rahmah, alongside TUMS’s Director of International Cooperation,Dr. Ardalan Shariat, several crucial outcomes were reached.
Notably, TUMS has committed to offering scholarships to Muhammadiyah delegates interested in pursuing a master’s degree in TeleHealth. The program entails a one-year study period, with one semester in Iran and the other semester conducted online.
For Indonesian students applying through PCIM Iran, a 50% scholarship will be provided, reducing the original semester fee of USD 1500 to USD 750.
Recognized as the top medical university in the Middle East and holding the global rank of 460, TUMS boasts 16 public and specialized hospitals, along with 10 research centers. The university has been a pioneer in health technology, contributing innovations like robotics surgery, stem cell therapy, organ transplantation, and various strategic health technologies.
Laila Rahmah, a final-semester medical student at TUMS and Vice Chairman of PCIM Iran, emphasized that the TUMS International Winter School 2024 serves as a pivotal opportunity for collaboration and shared commitment to advancing education in health technology.
“The launch of the TUMS International Winter School 2024 collaboration marks the beginning of potential cooperation between TUMS and Muhammadiyah in broader areas of education and health technology,” said Laila.
Both parties express optimism about the prospects of this collaboration, viewing the program as a platform to strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to the shared vision of advancing education and health technology.
