PCIM Egypt Distributes Eid al-Adha Sacrificial Meat to Palestinian

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, EGYPT – The spirit of Eid al-Adha was not confined to Jordan. It reached as far as the Palestinian community in Egypt, bringing them joy and celebration. The Muhammadiyah Special Branch of  (PCIM) in Egypt played a crucial role in ensuring that Palestinian patients at the Palestine Hospital in Heliopolis and Palestinian refugees in camps could partake in the Eid al-Adha tradition of enjoying sacrificial meat.

A press release received by muhammadiyah.or.id on Saturday (June 22) detailed how Lazismu of PCIM Egypt distributed the sacrificial meat. Goats and cows were slaughtered on Sunday, June 16, 2024, local time. The meat was then packaged and delivered to Palestinian patients being treated at the hospital, as well as Palestinian doctors and staff working there. A total of 60 packages of beef were distributed, with 36 given to Palestinian patients and 24 to the doctors and staff.

Director of Security dr. Hussein and General Patient Manager dr. Wafa from the Palestine Hospital expressed their appreciation for PCIM Egypt’s thoughtfulness towards the Palestinian people.

dr. Wafa further explained that the meat distributed by PCIM Egypt would be prepared by the hospital’s kitchen staff. Two dishes would be made: rice and meat seasoned with a blend of Palestinian and Egyptian spices. This would ensure that the Palestinian patients could enjoy a familiar and comforting meal during Eid al-Adha.

Meanwhile, Khairul Hakim, the Head of Lazismu (the Muhammadiyah Department of Charity Management) of PCIM Egypt, expressed his gratitude to the individuals who donated the sacrificial animals. He placed his hope that these sacrifices would be accepted by Allah and bring blessings to the donors in the hereafter.

“May what has been sacrificed be accepted by Allah and become a weight of deeds in the hereafter, ameen yaa rabbal ‘aalamiin,” said Khairul Hakim.

For Palestinians residing outside the hospital, the sacrificial meat distribution took a different approach. Motorcycles were used to deliver the meat directly to their homes in the Nasr City area of Cairo, Egypt.
