MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MANADO – Secretary General of Central Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah and Indonesia’s Director General of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, highlighted three keys to strengthening Muhammadiyah Social Enterprise (AUM), one of which is to avoid corruption.
According to Abdul Mu’ti, corruption is among the key pitfalls to avoid in managing AUM. The Professor of Islamic Education emphasized that the “3C” serves as the foundation for advancing these institutions, particularly in the field of education.
Speaking at Nur Afiyah Mosque, Universitas Muhammadiyah Manado, on Friday (26/9), the Professor of Islamic Education stressed that “Social Enterprise can only move forward if we avoid the 3C—conflict, corruption, and conservatism,” Mu’ti said.
He stressed that these three pitfalls must be avoided by those managing AUM, whether in education or other sectors. Once conflict arises, he warned, the downfall of the AUM is only a matter of time.
The next challenge, he said, is conservatism or backward thinking, narrow-minded, and resistant to change. In a rapidly changing world, conservatism can leave AUM stagnant and struggling to grow.
Mu’ti went on to propose a “3C” antithesis: compact (solid teamwork), creative, and communicative. AUM must harness its potential in a compact, creative, and communicative manner.
