EN.MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MESIR – To improve media management and quality, the Publication and Information Council of the Special Branch Board of Muhammadiyah Egypt (PCIM Egypt) held a capacity-building session with the Muhammadiyah Digital Outreach Center (PSDM) on Saturday (17/10).
The online session, held via Zoom, featured two speakers: Adam Qadar, Head of the Media Division and the Muhammadiyah Central Board Headquarter, and Erwan Sudiwijaya, a Communication Studies lecturer at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.
All members of PCIM Egypt’s Publication and Information Council and its media team attended the event. They gathered together at the MD Bibliotek library.
In his opening remarks, Farhan Fairus, Chairperson of PCIM Egypt’s Publication and Information Council, said the session served as an opportunity to consult the Muhammadiyah Central Board on the branch’s work programs and improve the performance of its media team.
As one of the speakers, Erwan encouraged PCIM Egypt’s media team to build warmer, more engaging interactions with online audiences. He also shared his experience fostering such engagement while managing one of UMY’s social media accounts.
Erwan also noted that Muhammadiyah’s media in Egypt could do more to highlight the country’s distinctive features and appealing aspects.
“Perhaps the Egyptian atmosphere feels ordinary to you. However, it could be an attraction for the content produced by the PCIM Egypt team,” he explained.
