MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA-Muhammadiyah is deeply saddened by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, causing the loss of lives, injuries, and enormous infrastructure damage.
President of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir hoped both countries could quickly mitigate the disaster effects.
“Our deepest condolences go to our brothers and sisters in both countries. Our prayers and thoughts are with them. May they get the strengths to confront the disasters and rise,” said Haedar on Monday (6/2).
Muhammadiyah also hoped that the Indonesian government would immediately provide humanitarian aid.
“Muhammadiyah stands ready to deploy medical teams, Insya Allah. We are now coordinating with the National Disaster Management Agency (BPNB) and the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Haedar.
