MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA — Chairperson of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Irwan Akib expressed gratitude following Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (UNIMUDA) Sorong’s achievement of Excellent Accreditation from Indonesia’s National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
“Alhamdulillah, another PTMA has achieved Excellent Accreditation. This accomplishment must be met with gratitude, which should be reflected in our continued commitment to improving and maintaining excellent services for all stakeholders,” Irwan said on Wednesday (7/12).
He explained that the accreditation reflects the strong performance of both academic and non academic processes at UNIMUDA Sorong, demonstrating the university’s seriousness in governance, quality assurance, and sustainable educational services.
Irwan emphasized UNIMUDA Sorong’s strategic role within Muhammadiyah, particularly in Eastern Indonesia. As one of the PTMA institutions based in Papua, UNIMUDA continues to demonstrate its commitment to serving local communities.
“UNIMUDA is not an ivory-tower university focused not only on itself. It is present in the heart of Papuan community, enlightening and empowering, without discrimination based on social, economic, or religious backgrounds. UNIMUDA serves all Indonesians, especially those in Eastern Indonesia,” he stressed.
He added that Excellent Accreditation should not be viewed merely as an administrative achievement, but as a mandate to continuously strengthen education quality, research, community engagement, and public-oriented services.
“This achievement is a responsibility, UNIMUDA Sorong must continue to improve its quality and services so that its presence delivers even greater benefits to society,” Irwan concluded. (Bintang Adrian)
