MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, EGYPT – Lazismu once again demonstrated its humanitarian commitment to the Palestinian people through the “Join Action for Palestine 4” agenda in collaboration with POROZ (Association of Zakat Managemnt Organizatioins). In this joint initiative, Lazismu succeeded in directly reaching Palestinian refugees currently residing in Egypt.
The distribution of aid took place on Wednesday (3/11) at Thariq bin Ziyad Mosque i the Ain Syams area. The activity aimed to provide direct support, both humanitarian assistance and moral encouragement, to refugees affected by Israel’s genocide.
The aid distribution was led directly by Barry Adhitya, Vice Chairperson of the Lazismu Central Board. A total of 25 Palestinian beneficiaries received food packages and cash on hand.
In his remarks, Barry expressed gratitude for being able to meet the Palestinian refugees in person. “Alhamdulillah, we have been able to come to Egypt and meet all of you to deliver this assistance,” he said. His message was then translated by Abdul Rouf, Vice Chairperson of the Special Branch Board of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) Egypt.
A touching moment marked the event when Abdul Rouf interacted with Palestinian children. One of them was a girl named Yasmin. When asked how she felt after receiving a food package, Yasmin smiled brightly and said, “syukron Lazismu,” which means “thank you, Lazismu.”
Before concluding the distribution, Barry expressed hope that the aid would be beneficial for the refugees.
“We would like to say thank you, and we are happy to meet all of you from Palestine. Hopefully, what we deliver today will be useful and bring blessings to all of us,” he said.
This initiative reaffirms the ongoing commitment of Lazismu and POROZ to continue playing an active role in global humanitarian missions, especially in supporting Palestinians in need. (Bintang Adrian)
