Muhammadiyah Congratulates Newly Elected PBNU Leaders

EN.MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA — President of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, expressed congratulation to the newly elected PBNU leaders: Rais Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar and Chairperson of Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz for the 2026–2021 term. 

Haedar expressed hope that the new PBNU leadership would carry out its mandate well and successfully implement the decisions made at the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama National Congress, held from August 27–31, 2026, in Jombang, East Java. 

“May the PBNU leadership carry out its duties well and successfully implement the decisions of the 35th NU National Congress,” Haedar said on Monday (31/8). 

He further expressed hope that the newly elected PBNU leadership would strengthen ukhuwah and cooperation with religious and other civil society organizations.

According to Haedar, strengthening solidarity and collaboration among the nation’s various elements is essential to creating greater benefits for the Muslim community, society, and Indonesia. 

“We hope that the PBNU leadership will further strengthen ukhuwah and cooperation with all religious and civil society organizations for the greater good of the Muslim community and the nation,” he said. 

Haedar stressed that Muhammadiyah remains open to synergy and cooperation with various elements of the nation in carrying out its national role and contributing to Indonesia’s progress.
