MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, IRAN — The Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Iran translated the document of the Treatise on Progressive Islam into Persian.
The Chairperson of the PCIM of Iran Syahrul Ramadhan said that the document, a product of the 48th Congress (Muktamar) of Muhammadiyah, became a present for the 112th anniversary of Muhammadiyah.
“We, PCIM of Iran, would like to promote Muhammadiyah to Iranians through the document so that it leads to an interfaith dialog and the unity among Muslims,” said Syahrul.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian-Persian translator of the document Rani Handaeni shared her experience in translating the document.
“It was interesting and challenging at the same time. The document presents theological, philosophical, and nationalistic values. The translation process required meticulous attention to detail,” said Rani.
Rani, who is also a member of PCIM Iran, hoped that this translated work would inspire Persian-speaking communities in the same way that the original book has inspired Muslims in Indonesia.
Besides, the translation process involved Iranian academics. The Persian version of the Treatise on Progressive Islam is set to be launched and discussed in the near future, making it accessible to the Iranian people and academic community.
