MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, EGYPT – The Muhammadiyah Department of Charity Management (Lazimu) has provided medical aid to the Palestinian Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. The essential medical supplies were handed over directly by Muhamad Khairul Hakim, the Head of Lazismu of the Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Egypt.
The ceremony marking the handover of the medical aid was attended by Hidanul Akhwan (Chairperson of the PCIM of Egypt), Hilma A’yunina (Chairperson of the ‘Aisyiyah Special Branch (PCIA) of Egypt), Tareek Arafat (Secretary General of Palestinian Red Crescent), Abdul Hunud (Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt), and Muhammad Zain Nasution (Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia to Egypt).
Tareek Arafat, the Secretary General of the Palestinian Red Crescent, expressed his deep appreciation for the assistance provided by Lazismu. He commended the swift response by the Indonesian people, highlighting the strong bond between Indonesia and Palestine.
“I am very happy and pleased with what has been done by the Indonesian people through Lazismu. They are very quick to respond to their brothers and sisters in Palestine so that the relationship between Indonesia and Palestine is like brothers and sisters themselves,” said Tareek Arafat in a press release on Monday (July 15).
Besides, the Head of Lazismu of the PCIM of Egypt Muhamad Khairul Hakim took the opportunity to express his gratitude for the generous donations from the Indonesian people that made this aid initiative possible. He emphasized Lazismu’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinians, mentioning their previous efforts that included sending two containers filled with essential food items and medicine during Ramadan.
The medical equipment donation included two defibrillators and one diathermy machine, with a total value of $32,710. These vital tools are expected to significantly improve the hospital’s capacity to provide critical care to Palestinian patients undergoing treatment in Egypt.
Khairul expressed his hope that this act of solidarity would bring much-needed relief to Palestinian patients in Egypt.
“Hopefully, this assistance can be a little help for the recovery of our brothers and sisters in need,” said Khairul.
